Delivery Information

Built to order

Paediatric wheelchairs such as this are built to order following an assessment with one of our Prescriptive Assessors. This allows us to measure up the child who will be using the wheelchair so that their equipment provides a perfect fit for them, as well as demonstrating and assessing for the various options. Wheelchairs can have a vast range of options so they best fit the child's experience, condition and requirements, and can be supplied with specialist seating solutions such as pressure relieving cushions and posture-supporting backrests for those with advanced seating requirements.

Assessments

We can carry out assessments either at our Chessington HQ where you will have the opportunity to try out our full range of products, or at your home address where we can also assess the environment the wheelchair will be used around.

Our Prescriptive Assessors are experienced with all aspects of the wheelchairs we supply, and can demonstrate and assess for all the options available. Should you wish to have a clinical input as well, for example if you require complex seating solutions, then we can arrange to assess alongside one of our partnered Occupational Therapists - there is a charge for this service.

Process

Following your consultation, we will provide a quote for the wheelchair (or wheelchairs) as assessed with your child. When you are ready to order we will need to take a 50% non-refundable deposit to commence the build. Paediatric wheelchairs tend to take 3 - 5 weeks to be built - we will advise you of the current build time at the time of order, and keep you updated as the build progresses.

Once the wheelchair has been built, it can be collected from our Chessington HQ, or we can arrange delivery to your home address. We will set up the equipment, making any adjustments necessary to ensure that your chosen wheelchair is perfectly fitted, and will spend the time to ensure that you and your child are confident with its usage.

We understand that every child is an individual, and that some children may require longer to get used to their new wheelchair - particularly if this is the first time they have used one, or they have advanced seating requirements. Our staff are experienced with handovers, and will spend as long as necessary to ensure that they are comfortable with the equipment.
