Depending on your need, you can choose to have either the left, right or both leg rests elevate, allowing you to keep your legs straight out in front of you. The angle adjustable elevating leg rests allow you to set them to a position that suits you, or have them at a lower angle should you no longer need your leg fully elevated.

Our Heavy User wheelchair is the RubiX XL, which features a sturdy aluminium frame to ensure that the wheelchair is durable yet still lightweight, weighing only 15.5kg. While larger than other wheelchairs we hire, it still easily folds down for transportation. A handy clip keeps the wheelchair in its folded position so that it takes up as little space as possible in a car.

Large back wheels allow the option of self propulsion, and the wheelchair is equally easy to push using the handlebars. This wheelchair is perfectly functional for pavements and other paved outdoor areas, while anti-tips at the back ensure the stability of the wheelchair and the safety of the user. The wheelchair features removable armrests, to allow for side transfers.

The wheelchair comes with a padded sling to ensure the comfort of the user. For those spending longer periods of time in the wheelchair, an additional cushion is available to hire for an extra £2 (ex VAT) per week.

A crutch holder can also be hired, which will conveniently store a pair of crutches whilst the wheelchair user is seated in the chair - this is also £2 (ex VAT) per week.

For amputees, we are able to supply this wheelchair with one or two stump boards instead of the normal legrests. If you would like to request these, please call our customer services team to place your order.
