Zippie RS Wheelchair

Zippie's RS is a paediatric tilt in space wheelchair designed to accommodate a variety of positioning and functional needs. It features growth adjustability, and is designed to interface with third-party specialist seating systems.

Product Description

Tilt in Space

The Zippie RS Wheelchair features 45° of tilt in space, providing high levels of pressure relief for those children unable to independently shift their weight. The seat frame rotates around the wheelchair's centre of gravity, keeping the wheelbase as short as possible. With no gas struts, the tilt angle can be changed easily and smoothly in a controlled fashion. The optional reclining backrest is a popular upgrade, as when combined with tilt it further aids with pressure relief, and also allows your child to lie back in a relaxed position, particularly when used in conjunction with elevating leg rests.

Complex Seating that Grows

The RS features seating that can be adjusted over time, allowing it to grow alongside your child, and also accommodating changing requirements. The RS is designed to be supplied with a third-party seating system, which we can assess for and supply from our one of our partnered specialist paediatric seating manufacturers.

Customisation

Each aspect of the Zippie RS is built to order, including a range of options for legrests, rear wheels, handrims, castor wheels, and spoke guards. A particular highlight is the numerous frame colour options - there are 32 of them, far more than you will find on other manufacturers' chairs, and these range from Flamingo Glitter to Sun Yellow.

Our Verdict

Sunrise Medical's Zippie RS offers good levels of tilt and adjustability for paediatric users. There are some other products on the market that potentially offer a bit more - Ki Mobility's Little Wave Arc is an equivalent that folds for transport too, while Zippie's Iris offers higher levels of tilt.
