Quickie Q300 M Mini Powerchair

The Quickie Q300 M Mini is THE narrowest true mid-wheel drive powerchair. Built on the success of its predecessor, the Salsa M2 Mini, it offers much-improved outdoor performance with the options for bigger wheels, more powerful motors, and larger batteries for a highly impressive 22 mile range. The Sedeo seating system is a similar step up - adaptable, stylish and comfortable.

Product Description

Power Base

At home in your space, the Quickie Q300 M Mini Powerchair is designed to fit into your life - not the other way around. Its standout feature is the ultra-slender base, from just 20.5 inches (52 cm) - which will let you get through narrow doorways, navigate a cluttered kitchen, or fit in the smallest of lifts with ease. With true mid-wheel drive, the drive wheels are directly under the centre of the chair - unlike other claimed "mid-wheel drive" powerchairs where they are set further forwards or back. True mid-wheel drive allows the Q300 M Mini to turn on its length, improves stability, and enhances traction.

Three drive wheel sizes are available, from the standard 12" - ideal for the narrowest width of the chair and thus ultimate indoor manoeuvrability, up to the largest 14" tyres which while marginally wider increase kerb climbing up to 4 inches (10 cm) and provide the best outdoor performance. This allows you to tailor your Q300 to your unique lifestyle - you define where your powerchair can take you. All versions include the patented all-wheel suspension, which independently cushions every wheel, absorbing shocks and bumps. Anti-pitch technology ensures there is no pitching when stopping on slopes, while powerful 4-pole motors and a range up to 22 miles with large 56 Ah batteries means your Q300 will last through the day.

Ideal for travelling, the Q300 M Mini is fully crash-tested for use with four-point tie-down restraint systems. It retains traction on ramps, thanks to the front and rear castors moving independently from the drive wheels, while the ultra low 16 inch seat height allows you to fit under the steering wheel of your WAV. If you're hoisting instead, the Q300 weighs from just 103 kg, and ultra compact options like the fold-down back and detachable armrests and legrests make it a breeze to hoist.

Seating

First-class comfort is assured by the choice of either Sedeo Lite or Sedeo Pro seating systems - both fully adjustable and configurable seating frames combined with a broad choice of support and positioning options. Designed to be individually tailored to your needs, each Q300 M is built precisely to your size, and to maximise your comfort and support. A range of Sedeo comfort cushions and backrests can be provided, with a selection of different contouring profiles to match your preference. Should you have more specific clinical seating requirements, the full JAY range of backrests and cushions can be fitted, as well as third-party alternatives.

A full array of powered seating functions are available on the Q300, including tilt in space - allowing you to adjust your position throughout the day, and a seat riser to bring you up to eye level with the world around you. The powered recline option lets you independently adjust through the day to relieve pressure and redistribute weight, whilst the powered elevating leg rests are ideal for addressing circulation issues.

Controls

The ever-reliable VR2 control system comes as standard on the Q300 M Mini, allowing for simple intuitive control of your powerchair, and up to two powered seating functions. For more advanced controls, the R-Net system is an upgrade option - as well as being able to control more powered seating functions, R-Net is a much more versatile and adaptable system, ideal for those whose needs might change. There is also the option for a large high-definition LCD screen joystick, as well as environmental controls through Bluetooth and Infrared, letting you control the TV, a laptop or smartphone from your Q300.

Sunrise Medical's Link-It mounting system is available on the Q300, letting you use a vast array of special control options such as head and chin controls, without compromising the sleek looks of your powerchair.

Appearance

Quickie have really gone to town with the looks of the Q300 M Mini. As well as the minimalist, matt-black look the Q-series chairs are famed for, there are a whopping 14 shroud options, and 7 accent colours to choose from - 98 colour combinations in total. As well as all the standard shroud colours - red, black, blue and so on, there are exciting new pattern designs including a carbon fibre effect, flame designs (in blue, white, grey or red) and even floral patterns!

Our Verdict

If you're after an ultra-compact powerchair with no compromise on performance, style, or comfort, the Q300 M Mini is the chair to go for. It's a clear improvement over its predecessor, with outdoor performance stepped up a significant notch, and with a more modern and adaptable seating system.

The only real competitor to the Q300 M Mini is Quantum's Edge 3 Stretto, which has the same narrow base. We would highly recommend trying both out to see which works best for you - and we have demo models of both products both in our showroom and for home assessments.

Prescriptive powerchairs such as this are built to order following an assessment with one of our Prescriptive Assessors. They are available with a wide range of customisation options, including powered seating functions, cushions and backrests, and drive performance upgrades, and these can affect the price - our Prescriptive Assessors will run through all the options at your assessment. As a general guideline, opting for multiple powered seating functions can add significantly to the cost of the wheelchair; however it is possible to get a fully functioning and desirable chair at the base price!

People purchasing powered wheelchairs will often qualify for zero-rated VAT. If the person using the wheelchair has a permanent disability, terminal illness or chronic sickness then they will be eligible for 0% VAT. Our Prescriptive Assessors will be able to answer any questions you may have about VAT.
