The top speed of 4 mph matches a brisk walking pace, and the 14 Ah batteries provide a 13 mile range - surprisingly impressive for a scooter of this class and price. Robustly built for regular use, the solid foam-filled tyres negate the risk of punctures, and reflectors help to keep you visible.
Unlike most scooters of this cost, the Vie features a delta tiller, making it more comfortable to operate than a typical "stick" tiller with thumb levers. This also features a high-level charging port, ideal if you struggle to bend down. Alternatively, the batteries can be removed for charging separate to the scooter. If your budget is limited, the Rascal Vie is a good choice, with its delta tiller setting it apart from similarly priced scooters such as Pride's Apex Lite. It lacks the luxury features seen on some boot scooters, such as suspension, lithium batteries, and ultra-light aluminium frames, but also avoids the premium price tag!
