Progeo Joker R2 Wheelchair

Progeo's Joker R2 is a special edition of the renowned Joker, featuring several upgrades to provide enhanced drive performance, and weight savings. It is a lightweight aluminium rigid-framed chair with an aggressive, sporty design.

Product Description

Joker R2 Frame

The Progeo Joker R2 Wheelchair is an upgraded version of the popular Joker line of rigid-framed wheelchairs. It features a welded front frame for enhanced durability and a more agile ride, as well as saving weight over the regular Joker. The aluminium frame still allows for seating and drive performance adjustment, including centre of gravity position and the rear wheel height.

The R2 comes inclusive with carbon fibre mudguards - which are a substantial cost upgrade on most other wheelchairs. These can be upgraded to full carbon rear axle adjustment plates that do away entirely with the rear axle "towers", saving significantly on weight for an even lighter Joker.

Personalisation

The aggressive design of the front frame incorporates adduction for better lower limb support and a sporty look. The sleek curves are available in your choice from six colours, and further accents on the castor forks and rear wheels can further make your Joker R2 stand out.

It's not just the looks of the Joker that you can customise, and your wheelchair will be built to order following an assessment with one of our specialists, allowing you to pick and choose from a wide array of options for every aspect of the Joker. Popular picks include market-leading Spinergy wheels, ergonomic Surge LT handrims, discreet sports brakes, and puncture-resistant Marathon Plus tyres.

Our Verdict

We've found that most people opt for the Joker R2 over the regular Joker on account of its improved drive performance and weight savings thanks to the welded front frame. It's got enough adjustability to it even for new wheelchair users, making it a safer pick than the fully welded Joker Energy.

Equivalents from other manufacturers to try are Ki Mobility's Rogue 2, Quickie's Nitrum and the titanium-framed ZRA from TiLite.
