Smallest Powerchair
The Koala Miniflex is an extremely compact powerchair designed for children - to the extent that Permobil claim it to be the smallest paediatric powerchair on the market. This small size helps young children manoeuvre around their environments, while the sturdy front-wheel drive configuration is powerful enough to keep up outdoors.
An optional front bumper is available to avoid unwanted knocks to the front of the wheelchair, although it has to be emphasised that the Koala is sturdily built, so it can take some bumps. A remote stop is also available as an upgrade if desired.
The unique seat riser comes inclusive with the Koala - on almost every other powerchair it is a substantial cost upgrade. It doesn't just raise your child up, it also brings them forwards, helping them to interact with people and objects around them - vital at a young age.
Configured Seating
Each Koala has its seat built to your child's size, and can be fitted with a range of cushioning and seating options to ensure your child's comfort and support. What's more, the modular seat can be adjusted over the years to grow with your child.
Our Verdict
The Koala Miniflex is a unique little powerchair, great for younger kids who will often be using a powered wheelchair for the first time. The sturdy build, bright colours and unique riser are ideal for young children, and well worth trying out.
