Motion Healthcare's new Airium Mobility Scooter is larger than a typical boot scooter, benefiting from increased stability and comfort thanks to its larger size. It has large 9 inch wheels with a super-soft tyre compound that combines with suspension for a much more comfortable ride than found on typical small boot scooters. Other luxury features include a comfortably padded seat with width-adjustable armrests, and an ergonomic delta handlebar.
The Airium notably has a higher weight capacity than other aluminium-framed scooters and can cater to people up to 21.4 stone in comfort.
The aluminium frame means the heaviest part weighs just 13.6 kg, far lighter than equivalent steel-framed scooters. It can be quickly and easily dismantled into four pieces, ideal for transport in the back of a car. It also has an ultra-light lithium battery that provides an impressive range of 25 miles. The 5-year warranty combined with the features of the Airium makes the scooter convenient and comfortable mobility solution.
Our Verdict
The Airium is the most comfortable aluminium-framed scooter yet released, and allows those who want a more comfortable scooter for longer journeys, or those who need a higher weight capacity, to enjoy the benefits of a light scooter. It is more expensive than steel-framed equivalents such as TGA's Zest Plus and Pride's Revo 2.0, but so much easier to lift.
