For taller people, trying to sit in a "standard" wheelchair can often be an uncomfortable experience. Their short and low seats often result in sitting with knees raised, which can cause aches and pains if done for extended periods of times. The Karma Flexx Tall Wheelchair overcomes this by being available with much longer seat depths - 19 or 20 inches, and with a higher front seat that accommodates longer legrests. Higher backrest options also ensure the necessary support is provided for your back.
As with all wheelchairs in the Flexx range, each Flexx Tall is built to order in your size and with a range of options to select from. Other dimensions, including the seat width, are configurable, and a vast array of optional components can be fitted. This includes elevating legrests, headrests, amputee supports, hemi armpads, crutch holder, adjustable push handles and more. The end result is a wheelchair that matches your needs rather than having to compromise on a "one size fits all" approach that rarely suits taller people.
The Flexx Tall is available as either a transit or self-propelled wheelchair, depending on whether you want the occupant to be able to propel themselves or not. It is a lightweight, aluminium-framed wheelchair that can be folded up, and have the backrest folded down too, reducing it to a compact size that will fit in the back of almost every car.
Our Verdict
We think the Flexx Tall is the obvious choice for taller people. If you're over six foot or have long legs, then a typical wheelchair just isn't comfortable to use for any length of time. A Flexx Tall will sit you in comfort, with the support you need.
