Handicare 950 Straight Stairlift

An economy stairlift, the 950 offers good value for those after a basic, reliable stairlift for a straight flight of stairs. It comes standard with a swivel seat, and has an innovative continuous charge function to ensure it is always ready to use.

Product Description

The Handicare 950 Straight Stairlift is Handicare's most cost-effective stairlift. It is available for straight staircases only, and offers a good value way of overcoming the challenge of climbing your stairs.

It comes with neutral, sand coloured upholstery as standard, in a wipe-clean flame retardant fabric. The seat has a manual swivel to it, but a powered footrest can be added if desired. A clip seat belt comes as standard.

A key feature is the continuous charge function, meaning the lift can be parked anywhere on the track to charge when not in use. This means you don't need to worry about where you have parked the lift, as it will charge anywhere.

Designed in consultation with Occupational Therapists, the ergonomic toggle control is simple to use, even for those with joint problems.

A slide track upgrade is available that automatically moves the track clear of any obstacles when the stairlift is in a parked position - ideal for hallways where access is required through doorways close to the top or bottom of your stairs.

Pricing

Our stairlifts are customised to suit both you and your home, and the price is heavily dependent on the layout of your staircase. For this reason it is not possible to quote for a stairlift until we have arranged for an assessor to visit your house. The price is usually affected by factors such as:

  • Type of staircase - straight stairlifts are generally cheaper than curved ones, and indoor stairlifts are cheaper than outdoor ones. The angle of your stairs, the space available at both top and bottom of your staircase, and the height of the bulkhead on the stairs can all impact on cost too.

  • Whether any adaptations are needed to fit the stairlift. Common adaptations include moving a radiator or trimming a windowsill.

  • Optional functions chosen on the stairlift, when available, such as powered swivel can add to the cost.

Most people using stairlifts will be eligible for zero-rated VAT. Those with a disability, chronic sickness or terminal illness are eligible for 0% VAT. If the person using the stairlift is not eligible for zero-rated VAT but is over 60 then they can get a reduced rate of 5% VAT. Our assessors can advise on your VAT status when they visit you.
