Weighing 13.5 kg overall, the Karma i-Lite Plus Wheelchair is a lightweight wheelchair. While heavier than the transit version, the quick-release rear wheels can be popped off to reduce the lifting weight to just 9.1 kg. The frame can be folded up to a compact size - great for storage either out the way in the house, or in the back of a car.
The large rear wheels allow for self-propulsion, and feature stylish black handrims. If being pushed, the large wheels also provide a smoother ride than smaller transit wheels, and the i-Lite retains convenient attendant brakes.
The seat comes in just one standard size - 17 inches, which will provide a decent fit for most people.
Our Verdict
The i-Lite is a good value wheelchair - however, most will choose to get the transit version instead as it is even cheaper. Other alternatives to consider are Karma's Agile and Greencare's Easy 1 Black Edition, which are both smarter looking wheelchairs with a choice of seat sizes, and not significantly more expensive.
