Handicare 1000 Straight Stairlift

With the highest weight capacity of a Handicare stairlift, the 1000 can take up to 31.5 stone (200 kg). Ideal for straight staircases, it features a choice of seat colours and can be upgraded to have powered seat swivel and powered folding footrest.

Product Description

The Handicare 1000 Straight Stairlift is their most established model of stairlifts, and also boasts their heaviest weight capacity of up to 200 kg (31.5 stone).

It features one of the slimmest stairlift tracks on the market, minimising the intrusion of the track onto the staircase. The slimline aluminium track has a hidden rack with two park points as standard, allowing the battery to be charged at the top or bottom of the stairs. A powered hinge is also available to prevent the track blocking a doorway at the base of the stairs.

As standard, the 1000 has a manual fold away footrest, seat and arms, ensuring it takes up less space when not in use. These can be upgraded with the choice of a powered swivel and footplate for the ultimate in ease of use. The Smart Seat has a choice of six upholstery colours, allowing you to match your décor.

Pricing

Our stairlifts are customised to suit both you and your home, and the price is heavily dependent on the layout of your staircase. For this reason it is not possible to quote for a stairlift until we have arranged for an assessor to visit your house. The price is usually affected by factors such as:

  • Type of staircase - straight stairlifts are generally cheaper than curved ones, and indoor stairlifts are cheaper than outdoor ones. The angle of your stairs, the space available at both top and bottom of your staircase, and the height of the bulkhead on the stairs can all impact on cost too.

  • Whether any adaptations are needed to fit the stairlift. Common adaptations include moving a radiator or trimming a windowsill.

  • Optional functions chosen on the stairlift, when available, such as powered swivel can add to the cost.

Most people using stairlifts will be eligible for zero-rated VAT. Those with a disability, chronic sickness or terminal illness are eligible for 0% VAT. If the person using the stairlift is not eligible for zero-rated VAT but is over 60 then they can get a reduced rate of 5% VAT. Our assessors can advise on your VAT status when they visit you.
