Wheelfreedom is delighted to be working in association with HCPT – The Pilgrimage Trust, a charity that takes children with special needs on pilgrimage to Lourdes in France. The trust was founded in 1956 and has assisted tens of thousands of children, many of whom have disabilities that limit their mobility, making a partnership with wheelchair hire company Wheelfreedom a natural fit.
Each year, HCPT helps organise trips to Lourdes for over 7,000 people, with the children’s Easter trip being the highlight. Over 2,000 children that are either disabled or have social or emotional needs are taken to Lourdes for a week, supported by a large team of volunteer helpers. The children stay at HCPT accomodation, with all the costs of travel, care and housing paid for by the trust.
Wheelfreedom have been featured in HCPT’s regular magazine, “Trust News”, and will be supplying wheelchairs to assist those looking to participate in HCPT’s activities.
