The new UberWAV service is available at the same cost as the regular UberX fares, and all vehicles are equipped with a rear-entry ramp, winch and restraints. The secure four point tie-down straps ensure that your wheelchair is safely held in place during your journey, while space is available for an additional passenger. Even better, the fare only starts when your journey does, ensuring that both you and the specially trained driver can take the time necessary to comfortably secure you in place.
Uber is investing more than £1 million over the first 18 months to establish its growing fleet of wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and these are currently available across London zones 1-4.
