Access Able is a new app released this week with the aim to ‘take the chance out of going out.’ This innovative new guidance app allows its users to see how accessible public places are as well as assisting in planning the best and most accessible routes to these destinations.
Immediately after logging in, the app will offer you the option to ‘Set your Accessibility Symbols’ offering you a chance to personalise the app to suit your specific needs. You have 32 options for personalisation, such as Level Access and Automatic Doors (or No Doors, Blue Badge/ Accessible Parking Bays, Accessible Toilets, Hoists, Sign Language, Facilities for Assistance Dogs, among others.
No longer will you arrive at a restaurant, theatre, or sporting venue and discover that you will have a difficult day ahead as it does not cater for all your needs. The app will also be ideal for tourists as the app has all major tourist attractions on there as well as participating cafes, bars, hotels, cinemas, train & tube stations among many others.
You can search for specific places, use the categories section or search on the map. It even offers the option to save your favourite places. Once a place is found you can also get advice on how to get to that location, including offering links to relevant travel websites relating to your journey.
The app is available in the App store and on google play, it is called Access Able. Let us know what you think? Has this helped you on any journeys? Let us know.
