The Pride Quest Mobility Scooter can be folded in seconds using just one hand, with only the lightweight battery needing removal. Once folded, the Quest measures 29 x 19 x 17 inches, making it one of the most compact scooters available. It can be stood upright to further save on space, and uniquely can be wheeled around, saving on lifting.
Weighing just 24 kg without batteries, it can be lifted into and out of a car. While this is heavier than the weight you would need to lift for a traditional dismantling boot scooter (generally no more than 15 kg at a time), many people find it easier to lift just one piece of a scooter rather than have to dismantle it and lift several bits in. The Quest comes as standard with super-lightweight Lithium Ion batteries weighing just 2.65 kg that can be charged either on or off the scooter. This allows you to keep your Quest folded up in your car, and take the battery inside for charging.
The distinct wheel arrangement, with twin front wheels, gives the Quest the manoeuvrability of a three-wheel scooter - including a stunning 32 inch turning radius, while the twin wheels and anti-tips ensures it doesn't have the stability issues found on some three-wheel scooters.
The Quest is available in black or red, and notably does not include armrests. This helps to make the scooter more compact, lightweight and easier to fold, although those who need more support may prefer a model with armrests.
Verdict
There is little difference between the Quest and TGA's popular Minimo, which are both made in the same factory. The Quest is best for those looking to save some weight by omitting armrests, and is also cheaper, although it has a standard one year warranty, in contrast to the two year warranty on the Minimo.
If you are after a higher level of comfort, we would recommend TGA's Minimo Plus 4 (which has overtaken the standard Minimo as their most popular folding scooter) which has pneumatic tyres for a better ride experience.
