The Pride Go Chair Powerchair has a highly compact footprint as well as a tight turning circle - these allow you to manoeuvre around restricted indoor spaces such as narrow corridors and tight turnings. The small size also helps with storage, as your wheelchair will tuck neatly out of the way when not in use.
The basic seat is comfortable to sit on, and ideal for those without any postural or pressure requirements. The armrests can be width-adjusted depending on the size of the user, and the weight capacity is an impressive 21.5 stone.
The large battery ensures the Go Chair can last the day, while handy storage pockets mounted under the seat allow you to carry your belongings around with you.
While the Go Chair is occasionally seen being driven outside on pavements, its small wheels and lack of suspension mean that we would only recommend it for indoor use. Easy to disassemble, it can be taken apart much like a boot scooter, meaning it can be lifted into the back of a car for transport - this allows it to be taken on trips to shopping centres for example.
Stylish and with a choice of colour accents (red, blue, pink, orange, yellow and white), the Go Chair is a refreshingly modern indoor powerchair, a sharp contrast with many competitors' models which look dated. For friends or relatives who may be reluctant to use a powered wheelchair for the first time, this can sometimes make all the difference.
The wheelchair is incredibly easy to operate, with a basic joystick for manoeuvring and an adjustable speed dial. We also individually program these wheelchairs for the person using them - in many cases that involves reducing the speed and sensitivity to a level they are confident with driving around inside.
Our Verdict
The Go Chair is our preferred indoor powerchair for those without any special seating requirements. Its reliability and simplicity of use are why we chose it for our hire fleet.
If you need a seat that is comfortable for all-day use then we would recommend the Quantum Kozmo, which features the same base as the Go Chair but a more advanced and comfortable seat that is built to fit your size.
