Kuschall K-Series 2.0

The K-Series is an icon of design; Kuschall's best-seller, its trendsetting monotube frame unlimits your world. Redesigned as part of Kuschall's 2.0 range, hydroforming makes it lighter than ever and has increased the strength and rigidity of the frame, for the most responsive ride yet.

Product Description

K-series 2.0 rigid frame

The iconic minimalist open frame and lightweight design gives you the ability to enjoy everyday activities. Hydroforming has resulted in a stronger and more rigid frame than ever - this is the best performing adjustable Kuschall chair.

The straight edge design of the frame allows for an ergonomic grip - ideal for lifting your chair, or when transferring from the seat. With the wheels popped off, the transport weight starts from just 5.1 kg, and the locking backrest provides a convenient gripping point to lift your K-series.

All adjustments on the K-series are on the seat module, not the base frame. This ensures that the castor fork is always fixed at the correct angle for the sharpest possible driving experience.

Seating and Configurability

Your K-Series 2.0's seat is bespoke built to fit your body, and every aspect of it can be customised. New improvements include a completely redesigned footbow with a flat surface for perfect positioning, and a new aluminium light active brake with a minimalist design. We weren't a fan of the brakes on the old Kuschall range, but this one is as good as anyone's. The seat is as adjustable as ever, with the ability to change the front and rear height, centre of gravity, and backrest height and angle.

Style

We've said it already - the K-Series is an iconic wheelchair, and hydroforming has added even more personality to it. The custom colours and decals allow you to truly personalise your chair. Our demo ones are completely different in appearance - one is in black with gold decals for a darker look, the other is a cleaner, fresher white with blue accents.

Our Verdict

The frame and seat design on the K-Series is completely different to the monotube design from other manufacturers, and it ensures the wheelchair always glides true.

The K-series compares to manufacturers' flagship monotube rigid chairs, such as Ki's Rogue 2, Quickie's Nitrum and TiLite's ZRA. We would suggest trying it alongside those models to see which one best matches your lifestyle.

Active wheelchairs are built to order following an assessment with one of our Prescriptive Assessors. They are available with a wide range of customisation options, from wheels to seating to style upgrades, and these can affect the price - our Prescriptive Assessors will run through all the options at your assessment. As a general guideline, we find most people will spend around an additional £500 - £1,500 on customisation options on active wheelchairs; however it is possible to get a fully functioning and desirable chair at the base price!

People purchasing active wheelchairs will normally qualify for zero-rated VAT. If the person using the wheelchair has a permanent disability, terminal illness or chronic sickness then they will be eligible for 0% VAT. Our Prescriptive Assessors will be able to answer any questions you may have about VAT.
