Dietz Sango XXL Powerchair

Specifically designed for people weighing up to 250kg, the Dietz Sango XXL is equiped with a front-wheel drive to provide increased traction and tight responsiveness at the joystick.

Product Description

The sturdily constructed and very reliable SANGO XXL powerchair combines excellent driving features with optimum manoeuvrability. The front-wheel drive (FWD) provides for enhanced traction and manoeuvrability. Drive negotiation becomes smoother as the FWD wheels are the first to encounter an obstacle. The large tires can "grab" an obstacle like a curb or a step and go over it, pulling the rest of the chair with them. With a stable base and tight responsiveness A FWD is not always the most intuitive for new users but once mastered it provides an excellent turning balance, stable base and increased responsiveness.

The FWD base features a durable rubber suspension system that absorbs both everyday vibrations and larger bumps for a smooth and quiet drive experience. They also have a pivot bar that helps to stabilise the chair on cambers and when turning.

A good range both indoors and outdoors is achieved with the standard 78Ah batteries but Dietz offer 100Ah batteries as an option for those wishing to go further. The Sango XXL is equipped with sturdier driving motors, which provide the necessary power and torque to support users weighing up to 250kg at around 3.7mph.

The Sego seating system features on the Sango XXL. It is a highly configurable seating system designed both to accommodate those after a chair offering outstanding comfort for all-day use, and also those with advanced clinical needs such as precise postural support and high-end pressure relief. Every part of the seating system is configurable, from armrests to headrests, legrests to backrests, and cushioning too. The backrest poles also allow for easy attachment of specialist seating from other manufacturers, ideal for those with particularly complex clinical needs.

Powered seating functions available on the Sango XXL include powered adjustments to the legrests and the Catapult seat system that tilts forward to aid with standing transfers. This is a unique and particularly popular feature that makes a real difference for those transferring forwards from their powerchair.

If very specific requirements cannot be met by standard options, the Sango XXL can be fitted with customised and bespoke items to ensure an optimal personalised solution.

Our Verdict

The Dietz Sango XXL Powerchair has been described as the Sango Advanced's cool big brother and we can easily see why. Dietz powerchairs well-built, reliable and perform well and the Sango Advanced is their marquee model. The Sango XXL is not the best looking powerchair in our showroom but the weight capacity and functionality are the key features. If you're looking at bariatric powerchairs with a high degree of functionality make sure you test drive the Quantum Q6 Edge HD and Quantum 1450 - the highest capacity powerchair in our range.

Prescriptive powerchairs such as this are built to order following an assessment with one of our Prescriptive Assessors. They are available with a wide range of customisation options, including powered seating functions, cushions and backrests, and drive performance upgrades, and these can affect the price - our Prescriptive Assessors will run through all the options at your assessment. As a general guideline, opting for multiple powered seating functions can add significantly to the cost of the wheelchair; however it is possible to get a fully functioning and desirable chair at the base price!

People purchasing powered wheelchairs will often qualify for zero-rated VAT. If the person using the wheelchair has a permanent disability, terminal illness or chronic sickness then they will be eligible for 0% VAT. Our Prescriptive Assessors will be able to answer any questions you may have about VAT.
