The Invacare Aviva RX40 Ultra Powerchair is equipped with a highly advanced power base that offers superior ride comfort, control, and manoeuvrability in multiple environments. It features a patented CTC Suspension system, providing superior traction, control, and extra comfort. The suspension system keeps all four wheels in constant contact with the ground to maintain control, while elastomer dampeners ensure there is no squeaking. The suspension can also easily be changed between hard and soft to suit you.
The length of the power base is adjustable and provides an impressive seat-to-ground height of 420mm, allowing users to negotiate under tables and desks and facilitating access to wheelchair-accessible vehicles. The Aviva RX40 Ultra comes with a 60 Ah battery as standard but can accommodate battery sizes up to 73.5 Ah, providing an extended power range for the powerchair.
Seating
Ultra Low Maxx is a high-end seating solution designed to ensure perfect posture and comfort for the user. The seating system mimics the body's natural pivot points, ensuring that the head, shoulders, hips, and feet stay in contact with the chair, providing comfortable support at all times. Extended Shear Reduction (ESR) technology is incorporated to reduce shear by adjusting the pivot point of the seat back, increasing or decreasing the range of shear reduction as needed to ensure that the user remains comfortable and supported.
There is a wide choice of seating sizes, including width, depth, backrest height, and armrest height, allowing for customization based on individual needs. The system is designed to provide perfect posture while ensuring comfort for the user, enhancing the overall seating experience.
Controls
Like the Invacare Aviva RX40, the Ultra wheelchair is equipped with the advanced LiNX control system, providing a consistent drive experience at all times. The LiNX system cleverly interprets, learns, and adapts the motors to changes in driving habits, ensuring a consistent drive performance day after day. The digital gyroscopic technology detects and corrects even the smallest deviation from your intended path, so you’ll go where you want to go without having to tweak the control direction.
Additionally, the Aviva RX40 Ultra features a range of controls and adjustments, including seat recline up to 170 degrees, seat tilt up to 50 degrees, and a built-in rail to allow for accessories to be added as needed. The seating system offers a wide choice of seating sizes, including width, depth, backrest height, and armrest height, allowing for customization based on individual needs.

Like all Invacare powerchairs the Ultra has sleek lines and a modern design, so you can feel confident being seen out and about in your chair. Pick from a range of colours for the contoured shrouds, castors and wheel rim inserts. Black comes as standard, but you can also choose from blue, red, silver or purple. If that’s not to your liking you can pick any colour under the rainbow with RAL colours.
Our Verdict
We've been really impressed with the Ultra Low Maxx seating system on the Aviva RX40 Ultra. This system combined with features, like the LiNX control system present in the popular Aviva RX40, has really enhanced the choice we can provide to customers. Wider chairs like the Q700 R and the Storm4 X-Plore offer similar performance levels but are not as compact. We recommend you give them all a test drive to fully appreciate the value the Aviva RX40 Ultra provides.
